The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Southeastern Louisiana University is hiring a Research Technician/Assistant to support the Chemical Monitoring of the Lake Maurepas Project! This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to environmental research and work with a multidisciplinary team on a large-scale monitoring initiative.
🧪 Key Responsibilities:
✅ Oversee day-to-day operations of an analytical chemistry lab
✅ Operate & maintain lab instruments and analytical equipment
✅ Process environmental samples and perform chemical measurements
✅ Collect & analyze scientific data in consultation with PIs & postdocs
✅ Assist in fieldwork for chemical monitoring
🎓 Who Should Apply?
✔️ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical/Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields
✔️ Experience in lab settings with analytical instruments (ICP, MPAES, DMA, FTIR) preferred
✔️ Research or professional experience in pollutant monitoring is a plus
✔️ Strong skills in environmental data analysis & coding are desirable
